McCance and Widdowson's 'The Composition of Foods': Dietary fibre in egg, meat and fish dishes

The composition tables of foods presented by McCance and Widdowson include some egg, meat and fish dishes which contain carbohydrate, and thus, dietary fiber, which was not included in the analysis. The values presented were calculated from the dietary fiber contents of the recipe ingredients or from the ratio of dietary fiber to available carbohydrate of white flour or oatmeal; the values are approximate and not the result of direct analysis. Some of the foods for which dietary fiber was calculated are Scotch egg, faggots, haggis, Cornish pastie, and dog fish fried in butter.
