Microphones and sound reinforcement systems
1978
Advice is presented on how to choose and use the sound system which best fits a training program, the room, and the budget. The directionality of microphones, the method by which they convert sound pressure to electricity, their durability, immunity to hum and pop, and built-in switches or filters must be evaluated. Selection of amplifiers, feedback control devices, and accessories is also discussed. The most important accessories for any sound reinforcement system are microphone supports. The whole sound system should be as uncluttered as possible.
