Winter workouts
1984
Salmon, Jacqueline
Winter activities for athletes and novices are discussed. These exercises burn a large number of calories thereby helping dieting efforts. Precautions that need to be taken when out in the cold are mentioned (i.e., how to protect parts of the face and fingers from frostbite). High calorie burning activities are skating, snow shoveling, sledding, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Moderate calorie burning activities include walking in the snow and building a snowman. (kbc)
