The aim of the present study was to determine the efficiency of animals living around urban and rural life in diverting dangerous blood feeding mosquitoes of the Culicidae family. This is an interventional study in which the rate of attracting mosquitoes to domestic cats was investigated from November 20 to 30, 2020. Also, the mosquitoes around the host were killed using a mosquitoe swatter three times a night, once an hour from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The number of mosquitoes killed in each step was recorded. We then compared the frequency of blood feeding bites on humans inside the house and on domestic cats in the backyard. Results showed that a total of 134 Culex mosquitoes were collected and killed from near the animal host. Of these, 36.5, 38 and 25.5% were killed from 8:00 to 21:00 p.m., 21:00 to 22:00 p.m., and 22:00 to 23:00 p.m. from around the animal host. In the present study, the Culex theileri and Cx. pipiens species were identified. Research has shown that the blood-sucking culex mosquitoes have been completely diverted from humans to pets.
