Magnetite nanocrystals draw many attractions of their applications for hyperthermia therapy; cancer killing by heating. These days, hyperthermia together with chemotherapy shows improved cancer treatment effects. So, this research focused on the synthesis of magnetite nanoparticles by thermal decomposition and the dispersion of the particles within nanoporous aerogel matrices for the application of hyperthermia and chemotherapy. We could present the possibilities of the dispersion of magnetite nanoparticles within aerogels by infiltrating magnetite precursor solution and forming nanocrystals, and infiltrating magnetite nanoparticles synthesized previously into aerogels. 20–30% of nanoparticles could be dispersed within aerogels and showed hyperthermia effects; 45 °C of temperature increase when 560 Oe of magnetic field was applied.
