Changes with time in the lipids of human milk
1984
Reported changes occurring in the fat content and lipid composition of human breast milk with time of lactation are reviewed and discussed. The literature findings indicate that the total lipid content of mature human milk increases with lactation duration, while the levels of phospholipid and cholesterol appeared to decrease. These observations are discussed relative to the differences reported by different researchers using different analytical techniques. (wz)
