The nutrimental dynamics and diagnosis of guava (Psidium guajava L.) trees were studied in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico, where it was recently introduced. The highest foliar contents of N occurred in January, when most of the vegetative and reproductive shoots were spouting. They decreased during fruit growth stage and leaf maturing, while the highest K values were obtained from February (fruit ripening) to April (stage III of fruit growth) and in October. The highest concentration of Ca was from April to May (stage III to fruit maturing) and the highest concentrations of Fe and Mn occurred from March to October. The content of P, Mg, Cu, and B was constant during the year. Only Mg was in a lower range than the reference. According to the conventional method (MC), all nutrients, except Ca and Mn, varied from normal to high concentrations. However, with the deviation from optimum percentage method (DOP) all macro and micronutrients (except Fe) had negative indexes and for the majority of the guava groups, their most frequent order of nutrimental requirements (ORN) for macronutrients was P> Mg> Ca> N> K, and for micronutrients Zn> Mn. With DRIS, in the majority of the guava groups, the nutrients N, Mn, and Zn showed negative values, with the following ORN: N > Mn > Zn. The relationship between the nutrimental unbalance index (IDN) and fruit yield for DOP was low (R2 = 0.47), but it was high (R2 = 0.93) for DRIS. Therefore, DRIS was the best method for diagnosing the nutrimental unbalance in guava trees.
