Transient hyperglycemia in infancy and childhood; a review
1978
Bilginturan, A.N. | Jackson, R.L.
A review of information regarding transient hyperglycemia in infancy and childhood focuses on the diversity of clinical disorders in which it occurs, management of the disorder, pathogenesis in older children, and family studies. The hyperglycemia with glycosuria may at times be associated with ketoacidosis, and a family history of diabetes mellitus is not infrequently present. Newborns typically have complete recovery. Small doses of regular insulin are used to avoid severe hypoglycemia and brain damage.
