The USDA is spearheading an initiative to encourage all areas of food service to become involved in food rescue or gleaning efforts, and some schools are already participating in these kinds of programs. This article describes the USDA grant program, how some schools and food recovery organizations are already involved, and some of the misunderstandings about food rescue.
