Childhood cholesterol screening: contraindicated

In this Commentary, the authors comment on the work of Resnicow et al (The case against "The case against childhood cholesterol screening"). Many questions remain about the safety and efficacy of cholesterol screening and treatment in children. Because of this, the authors feel that cholesterol screening is contraindicated because of the enormous cost and the possibility of significant harm.
