In discussing the hiring of the handicapped, the first concept that managers of the disabled should master is that people with disabilities are separate and distinct individuals, not a homogenous category labeled "the disabled." But because people with disabilities are used to encountering difficulties through the years in finding jobs, they usually develop into highly motivated problem solvers.
