Metabolism of methionine in oral contraceptive users and control women receiving controlled intakes of vitamin B6
1977
The effects of Vitamin B12 depletion and repletion with various levels of pyridoxine HCl on the metabolism of methionine by oral contraceptive users and nonusers as determined by the urinary excretion of homocystine, cystathionine, L cysteine sulfinic acid, taurine and methionine are measured. Data indicate that oral contraceptive users are not generally different from non users with respect to Vitamin B6 requirements as evidenced by methionine metabolism.
