Effect of the method of combining two early and two late inbred lines of corn upon the yield and variability of the resulting double crosses
1940
Eckhardt, R.C. | Bryan, A.A.
Experiments were designed to test the best method of combining two early (E) and two late (L) inbred lines of maize. There were no consistent differences in yields between the (EXE) X (LXL) and the (EXL) X (EXL) double crosses. Variances for silking date, ear height, ear weight, ear diameter, and ear length were significantly less for the (EXE) X (LXL) double crosses.
