An overview of the subject of obesity is presented. Numerous obesity related diseases and disorders are listed, and some of them are discussed. Some causes are described, and possible mechanisms of obesity are tabulated in a table. In general, obesity is regarded as a somatic manifestation which is a result of autoplastic processes dominated and regulated by unconscious motivations. These processes materialize through the performance of biological and chemicophysical mechanisms.
