A detailed technical report highlights a number of nutritional concerns for pregnant adolescents. Specific attention is given to: the assessment of nutritional status of pregnant adolescents; vitamin, mineral, and caloric intakes and recommended dietary allowances during pregnancy; and potential health risks due to adolescent food habits, including the use of fast foods, vegetarian diets, and snacking. The relationship of nutritional status with pregnancy outcome in pregnant adolescents also is addressed.(wz)
