Clemontanoside F, a new triterpenic bisglycoside from the roots of Clematis montana, has been characterized as 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-28-O-beta-D-galactopyranosyl (1 leads to 6)-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1 leads to 2)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-3 beta-hydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oate.
