Many monthly computer magazines are available, and their number and size continue to increase. Some magazines are general in nature; others focus on specific computers, hardware, software, or business and personal applications. Several journals may be helpful in providing information about potential applications of microcomputers in instructional settings. "Computers Using Education Newsletter" is published by a non-profit organization designed to promote and improve computer use in schools and colleges. "The Journal of Computer-Based Instruction" is published by the only computer-related professional association with a special interest group on health education. "T.H.E. Journal" contains useful product descriptions and a valuable feature on recent happenings in instructional computing. "Softalk" is a magazine that provides product descriptions and reviews, programming hints, and regular listings of the most popular software. Other good sources of information about instructional applications of computers include " Classroom Computer News", "Educational Technology", "EDUCOM", "Electronic Education" "Electronic Learning" "Media and Methods" and "The Computing Teacher". Addresses of these journals, the number of issues published each year, and estimate costs are presented in a table that supplements the text. (aje)
