SynopsisCoastal bermudagrass produced the largest forage yields with Pensacola bahiagrass and dallisgrass following in that order. Yield and N content of bermudagrass were increased through the highest N rate, 900 pounds per acre. Nitrogen content of bahiagrass and dallisgrass was increased through the highest rate, with yield increases through the 600-pounds-per-acre N rate. Irrigation increased yields and N recovery during periods of low rainfall. The percent of applied N recovered decreased as N rate increased and was highest on Coastal bermudagrass.
