Horizontal Infiltration of Water in Soils: A Theoretical Interpretation of Recent Experiments
1973
Parlange, J.-Y. (Jean-Yves)
A general theory of water movement is used to describe the horizontal infiltration of water when the diffusivity increases exponentially with moisture content. The results can be expressed in simple analytical form and are in excellent agreement with experimental observations. The results confirm that the theory is accurate because water diffusivity varies with water content.
