Triterpene caffeoyl esters and diterpenes from Celastrus stephanotifolius

The methanol extract of the dried stems of Celastrus stehanotifolius afforded two new triterpenes: lup-20(29)en-28-al-3beta-yl caffeate (betulinaldehyde-3beta-yl-caffeate) and olean-28-al-3beta-yl caffeate, two new diterpenes: celaphanol A and celaphanol B, three known triterpenes: lup-20(29)en-28-ol-3beta-yl caffeate (betulin-3beta-yl-caffeate), lup-20(29)en-28-oic-3beta-yl caffeate (betulinic acid-3beta-yl-caffeate) and olean-3beta-yl-caffeate, and one known diterpene: nimbidiol. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.
