Present study was conducted to study the effect of some climatic parameters on the performance of Local birds reared under intensive. Performance of Local birds under the environmental conditions such as temperature, relative humidity and Temperature Humidity Index (THI) was studied in summer in Konkan region of Maharashtra. 200 birds were equally distributed and reared for thirteen weeks in two blocks. Each blocks was having four replicates of 25 birds each. The overall average temperature, relative humidity, THI, water intake, weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion ratio by the birds in intensive systems up to thirteen weeks of age were; 25.60, 65.04%, 73.49, 13745.19 ± 17.54 ml, 469.32 ± 87.01 gm, 8779.18 ± 11.13 gm and 1.55 ± 0.11, respectively. It was concluded that during the extremes of temperature and relative humidity the performance of the Local birds was less.
