Two propositions are introduced: (1) in order to achieve efficient home production of protein requirements, Great Britain should concentrate mainly on the development of new sources of vegetable protein; (2) it should be insured that feedstuff requirements are substantially home produced. Two crops lupinseed and leaf protein (LP) are examined as potential crops to relieve present problems. Tables show yields of crude protein and edible oil, and feedstuffs consumption. Other tables and diagrams give information about the two plants.
