In a trial, rearing density affected the mean weight and weight gain of pompano, although differences between treatments became apparent toward the end of the study. The final weight and weight gain of pompano at high density were 9.8 and 15.8% lower, respectively, than those of fish reared at lower density. The study also demonstrated pompano can be cultured at reduced salinities.
