The known delta-amyrone, 3-epi-delta-amyrin, delta-amyrin as well as a new hydroperoxy triterpene, 18beta-hydroperoxy-olean-12-en-3-one (named sarmentolin) were isolated as hepatoprotective agents from Sedum sarmentosum. Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and chemical reactions.
