A neo-clerodane diterpenoid from Teucrium asiaticum

A novel neo-clerodane diterpene, teucrasiolide, was isolated from the aerial parts of Teucrium asiaticum as a mixture of C-15 epimers. Its structure, (15R and 15S, 20R)-15,19-diacetoxy-4 alpha, 18-epoxy-6-oxo- 20, 7 alpha-(20-O-acetyl)-hemicetal-neo-cleroda-11E, 13Z-dien-16,15-olide, was established by spectroscopic means.
