Cultivation of rose scented geranium as medicinal and aromatic plant opens new perspectives in different economic sectors. The geranium’s essential oil can give very benefits to the economy of Algeria. However, this culture has decreased in recent years for many reasons. This literature review is an update of different steps of the cultivation and exploitation of rose geranium in manufactories. Furthermore, the aim of this study is to emphasize the economic and therapeutic importance of geranium oil in order to boost this culture. The essential oils market in Algeria is very important and prosperous and can be developed to make this activity an additional source of sustainable development tool.
