Extract: In this paper we will not treat the set of specifically designed resource conservation and development programs but rather, confine our discussion to the resource conservation implications of price and income policies of the U.S.D.A. we start with a discussion of our concept of resource conservation and description of our analytical framework. next we review some past literature concerned with the consequences of price and income policies. then, taking what we can learn from these reported analyses together with our framework, we shall attempt to interpret the likely resource conservation consequences of major provisions of price and income policies. finally, we offer some proposals for reaserch needed to more fully assess the resource conservation impacts of price and income policies.
