Effect of Time and Depth of Sampling upon Soil Test Results
1967
Childs, F. D. | Jencks, E. M.
Available phosphorus, potassium, pH, and lime requirement determinations were made for 13 consecutive months in Gilpin, Gilpin-Upshur, and Westmoreland soils under permanent pasture. Statistically significant differences in available phosphorus and potassium and lime requirement occurred with time with the largest seasonal differences occurring between the winter and summer months. Differences found were of sufficient magnitude to influence llme and fertilizer recommendations.
