Capillary isoelectric focusing with whole-column imaging detection (icIEF) technology is now the mainstream technology to perform analytical isoelectric focusing analysis in pharmaceutical industry. This article reviews different applications of the icIEF technology in the industry, starting with a review of why whole-column imaging detection is beneficial for capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF). Then, we take a look at recent research using the technology to support the evolving therapeutic landscape.
