Nutrition newsletters: An effective program method for child care providers
1991
Stadler, K.M.
This qualitative case study measured the effects of implementing a series of Extension preschool nutrition newsletters. Child care providers were observed using newsletters designed to provide information on three nutrients and on sensory, creative, and academic activities in a preschool curriculum. The research design consisted of a presurvey interview and nutrition knowledge pretest, three weekly observations, and a postsurvey interview with a nutrition knowledge posttest. Descriptive statistics were used. The newsletters were an effective educational tool to increase the nutrition concepts and activities. Some increase in nutrition knowledge was shown. The providers responded positively to a food and nutrition newsletter.
