Certain research findings demonstrate no connection between food allergy causes and migraine attacks. Another researcher has found that, even if a patient has high levels of specific antibodies to a certain food, a single ingestion of that food does not always induce a migraine. Migraine may be a reaction to toxic substances in the external or internal environment which can produce many other signs and symptoms of poisoning, including an increasing number of allergic reactions. Ergotamine, industrial fumes, oral contraceptive steroids, and smoking were found to be precipitating factors of severe and frequent migraine attacks.
