Rose scented geranium (Pelargonium graveolens L′Herit ex Ait) is a high value perineal, multi harvest aromatic crop having profound medicinal uses. Essential oil of rose geranium finds its use in perfumery, cosmetics and flavor industry which places it among the top twenty oils of the world. Although, the current domestic requirement of geranium essential oil is about 200 tonnes, only 20 tonnes is produced in India. The remaining requirement is fulfilled through import from other countries. This gap between the demand and the production can be met by surmounting oil production by improving agronomic practices related to precise nutrient management. Efficient nutrient management can be one of the key factors in enhancing oil yield of geranium. In this review, research work carried out to optimize both organic and inorganic nutrient management practices in geranium is being discussed so that this information can be further utilized to enhance yield and quality of geranium.
