Development, structure and fine structure of the albumin sac were studied on 385 goose eggs of nearly the same size (168–172g). Histological, histochemical and electronmicroscopical methods were used on the eggs from day 1 to day 28 of incubation. The results were compared to those taken (in other studies) on chicken and duck eggs. It was found that the epithelium of the wall of the albumin sac was capable of active resorption between the 10th and 19th days. The duct of the albumin sac develops under the allantoic septum. An intensive resorption of protein takes place through the wall of the sac between the 17th and 20th day of incubation.
