A system for computer-generation of labor accounting reports was installed in a hospital dietetics department and found to be cost beneficial. The reports were designed to aid in labor cost control and other management decisions related to labor. They included data on unscheduled absenteeism, employee turnover, monthly labor costs, and seniority. The system also was designed to generate adhesive labels for time cards, containing date, Social Security number, name, and date of last day of pay period. The time, costs, and information provided were analyzed, and the system was concluded to be cost beneficial.
