Among 193 plants of diverse origin and representing a wide range of morphological types, 192 had a chromosome number of 2n=56, or approximately 56. One plant, selected from Nebraska 10-3487, had 8 to 11 accessory chromosome fragments in addition to the apparently normal complement of 56 chromosomes.
