Ethno-medico-botanical studies on sacred groves in shree keshetra korthan tal- Parner, district Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) India

Local communities in many parts of the world have conserved sacred forests or groves, based on spiritual and cultural values. Sacred groves are traditionally protected small patches of vegetation type which has been dedicated to a particular deity and managed by the local communities through a wide range of management practices such as not allowing cutting of trees, collection of fuel wood, and grazing of the grove area. In the present study God Bhairavnath temple of Jategaon, Shree Kshetra Korthan Khandoba devasthan temple, Padali darya, from Parner Tahasil, of Ahmadnagar district were selected. During this study, 59 ethno-botanical species belonging to 53 genera were collected and identified. Their medicinal information was collected from local people and documented in his communication.
