The mineral nutrient content in the leaves of two sweet cherry CVS with interstem
1990
Rozpara, E. | Grzyb, Z.S. | Olszewski, T.
The influence of different interstems on mineral nutrients contents /N, P, K, Ca, Mg/ in the leaves of 11 years old sweet cherry trees was investigated. Trees of two cultivars Van and Buttner's Red grafted on Prunus avium and Prunus mahaleb seedlings with interstems of: weak growing hybrids of sour cherry, different types of Prunus fruticosa Pall., sweet and sour cherry cultivars were campared with trees grafted directly on Prunus avium seedlings, used as control. It was found, that interstems had a significant influence on the level of mineral elements in the leaves except phosphorus. Interstems significantly increased content of magnessium and decreased content of potassium in the leaves of Van cv. In case of Buttner's Red cv.,the same effects were found only with trees grafted on Prunus mahaleb seedlings.
