Some challenges and problems facing European fish products are examined. Given the United States' low per capita consumption of fish and its changing tastes in seafood, it becomes a challenge to improve production technology of frozen seafoods, so that stronger demands are created for the product. Devaluation of the dollar is of great concern. Overall, Americans are willing and able to pay very high prices for good quality fresh fish. The American market will remain number one for sales of North Atlantic frozen fish, but price increases will be resisted.
