Eating behavior is linked to psychological aspects, in the field of nutrition it is analyzed with the aim of observing and identifying eating habits and behaviors of individuals towards food. Anxiety and stress are some triggers for binge eating. The aim of this study was to evaluate the eating behavior and presence of binge eating (PAC) in overweight women who use social networks. This is a prospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research was carried out with 36 adult women, of which 1 was excluded from the study for not being overweight, who use and participate in groups related to diets and healthy eating on social networks. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was used to assess eating habits and the Periodic Eating Compulsion Scale (ECAP). 75.7% of the participants reported eating in moments of stress and boredom, with 64.9% having a preference for sweets at these times. According to the score obtained in ECAP, 45.7% (n=16) women had binge eating. It was concluded that at times caused by stress and anxiety, most women tend to increase the amount of food ingested, often eating even when they are not hungry, as a way of satisfying this feeling, preferring foods that are high in calories, such as candy.
