An investigation was carried out to assess the status of fluoride in the ground irrigation waters and its effect on Mustard crops of Nawan tehsil. From 50 villages of Nawan tehsil, 100 ground water mustard Plant samples were collected and analysed for various chemical constituents. The results indicated that only 29 per cent water samples were found to have fluoride content less than 1.5 ppm i.e fluoride content within permissible limit for drinking purpose asper W.H.O. and also safe for irrigation purpose. Majority of soil samples belonged to pH₂ below 8.5, EC₂ between 0.2–0.4 dS m⁻¹, organic carbon between 0.1–0.2 per cent, SAR below 2.5, CEC between 2.5–5.0 and ESP below 50. The EC₂, SAR, ESP, chloride and fluoride of soil had significant positive correlation with fluoride content of irrigation water. The correlation coefficient between chloride and fluoride anions of mustard plant samples had significant positive correlation coefficient with fluoride content of irrigation water.
