AIM: To investigate the chemical constituents from dragon's blood of Dracaena cambodiana in Hainan. METHODS: Compounds were purified by silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and their structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic data. RESULTS: Eight compounds were isolated and identified as syringaresinol (1), pinoresinol (2), balanophonin (3), 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-6-(3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-3, 7-dioxabicyclo[3.3.0]octane (4), 5, 7- dihydroxy-4′-methoxy-8-methylflavane (5), 7, 4′-dihydroxy-8-methoxyhomoisoflavane (6), (2R)-7, 4′-dihydroxy-8-methylflavane (7) and (2S)-7, 3′-dihydroxy-4′-methoxyflavane (8). CONCLUSION: Compounds 1–8 were reported from the dragon′s blood of D. cambodiana for the first time.
