Management of infants with severe protracted diarrhea unresponsive to conventional treatment is described. Multiple intolerances of lactose, sucrose, milk protein, gluten and soya may be present. A feeding regime based on puree chicken, which has a relatively low osmolality and is hypoallergenic, is better accepted and tolerated than elemental diets, MCT formula or other commercially available products. It can be easily adapted to individual requirements as each nutrient group is a separate ingredient. Tables detail ingredients, composition and osmolality of the product.
