Extract: Because public water supplies, bottled waters, and soft drinks may contain sodium, dietitians should know the sodium content of the water and soft drinks available in their area. The article includes tables that list the sodium content of bottled waters by brand name and of soft drinks by type. Alternatives for use by dietitians with patients on sodium-controlled diets are discussed.(author)
