In this paper the biology, ecology, natural enemies, damages and protection of olive bark beetle Phloeotribus scarabeoides (Bernard, 1788.) is presented. The most used data was from the literature concerning on olive bark beetle behavior in central Dalmatian Mediterranean olive groves. The adult pest over winters in the two forks of branches. Its reproductive flight begins in the end of February and last to the end of May. Development of the spring generation, in woody cutting, lasts 69 to 74 days. The female deposits 50-80 eggs. Larvae appearance starting after 9-12 days. Develop of larvae least 47-54 days and pupae development is 10-12 days. Young olive bark beetle occurs in the midle of June until late August. After the supplemental nutrition in olive branches pest leaves to overwintering. If the branches is pruned olive bark beetle realize another summer generation in olive orchad. The development of eggs and pupae are the same as the first generation, but larvae development takes 22 days. Depending of pest attack, in dalmatian olive groves, maximum loss of yield can be up to 9%. The parasitic wasp Cheiropachus quadrum F., Raphitelus maculatus Walk. i Dendrosoter protuberans (Nees) reduce olive bark beetle populations by about 23 %. Effective measures to reduce the number of this pest is to use woody cutting bundles made up from pruned olive branches.
