Microwave drying of spruce: moisture content, temperature, and heat energy distribution
1998
Zielonka, P. | Dolowy, K.
Spruce samples were heated in a standard microwave oven (wave frequency 2.45 GHz). During the drying process the internal wood temperature, distribution of moisture content, and heat energy absorbed in wood samples were periodically determined. The maximum temperature is located at a distance of several millimeters beneath the surface exposed to microwave energy. A new equation for the moisture content versus neating time is presented.
