This chapter discusses the immunity-related factors and events exacerbating measles infection in undernourished children. The effect of measles on lymphoid tissues and measles-induced anergy are among the topics examined. The relationship between rash severity, virus excretion and morbidity is also reviewed. The prevention of morbidity and mortality and the efficacy of vaccinations are discussed in detail.
