The experiment entitled, Effect of IBA and different rooting medium on pomegranate cuttings was conducted at Commercial Fruit Nursery Unit, College of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola with the objective to study the effect of IBA and different media on pomegranate cuttings and to findout suitable combinations of IBA and rooting media for rooting and growth of pomegranate hardwood cuttings. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Completely Randomized Design with 24 treatment combinations, comprising two treatments of IBA concentrations (2500 ppm IBA, 5000 ppm IBA and control) and eight treatments of rooting media, replicated thrice. The results of the investigation indicated that, among the different concentrations of IBA tried the hardwood cuttings treated with 2500 ppm IBA observed early sprouting, maximum shoot and root growth, sprouting percent, success percent and survival percentage of rooted cuttings. In respect of different rooting media, soil + cocopeat recorded maximum shoot and root growth, success percent, survival percentage of rooted cuttings and shoot dry matter percent. The combined effect of IBA concentrations and different rooting media indicated that, hardwood cuttings treated with treatment combination 2500 ppm IBA with rooting media soil + cocopeat recorded significant performance for maximum length and number of sprout, sprouting percent, success percent, survival percentage of rooted cuttings and shoot dry matter percentage.
