Dietary intake and sources of selenium in young Finnish women
1984
Mutanen, Marja
A 7-day diet record survey of 29 young Finnish women revealed an estimated mean intake of selenium (Se) of 31 micrograms/day, principally derived from cereals, milk, and fish and eggs (28.1%, 18.7%, and 29.5% of the total Se intake, respectively). The 95% confidence limits for an individual subject's Se intake indicated that the 7-day record method gave an Se intake within 35% of the measurement of a long-term Se intake. However, a high variation in Se intake was found between subjects, as well as a large variation in Se content of different foods consumed. (wz)
