An analysis of the southeastern feeder pig market
1982
Reid, D.W. | Reed, M. R.
Extract: The Southeastern feeder pig market was analyzed using semiannual data from 1971 to 1980 for eight states. A time-wise autoregressive and cross-sectional heteroscedastic pooling technique was used in the analysis. The results indicate that in the long run the quantity of feeder pigs supplied responds proportionally more to a change in the price of corn than to the price of feeder pigs. The quantity of feeder pigs demanded responds proportionally more to a change in the price of market hogs than to the price of feeder pigs or corn.
