Extract: A structured quantitative diet history method has been developed and used in several cancer epidemiological studies in Hawaii. It was used successfully to test dietary hypotheses in those studies and to distinguish eating patterns among the multi-ethnic population. The methodology may be used for research concerning the etiology of other diet-related diseases, for dietary counseling, and for identifying community nutrition programs.(author)
